Mr. Jones has an extensive corporate background, having worked as Director of Advanced Planning at Woodward & Lothrop as Assistant Director of Communications at the National Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C., as Account Executive at Pallace Advertising Inc. in Columbia, MD, and as Associate Editor at Reader’s Digest Books in New York, N.Y.
While working at Reader’s Digest Books, Mr. Jones developed best-selling books such as “Our National Parks,” “America from the Road,” “The Magic and Medicine of Plants” and “50 State Birds and Flowers: First Day Cover Special Collection” (which is a collection of rare stamps). Mr. Jones was also a freelance consultant with The Washington Post, The New York Times, Ameryka USA, Amway Corporation, American Express and Mobil Corporation.
Mr. Jones’ marketing and public relations expertise are well documented in the media, having acted as a consultant/spokesperson for clients in the area of health care, education, politics, environment and transportation.
Mr. Jones is the former Chief of Staff for the City of Jersey City, and has served as a two-term Chairman for the Jersey City Employment and Training Program (where he is currently Vice Chairman.) He is also a member of the Christ Hospital Board of Trustees and the Hudson County Community College Center for Business & Industry.
Mr. Jones has spoken on public relations and marketing at a host of seminars and conferences, such as the New York University Head Start Technical Assistance Support Center. Mr. Jones also served as a panelist at the Columbia University Hechninger Institute on Education and the Media. His comments from that seminar are published.
Mr. Jones has won awards and has been published in advertising magazines such as Art Direction,
Print Magazine, Graphis and Communication Arts.
